Tennis Clinic

On September 13, 2009, NDN, in conjunction with Midtown Tennis Club, held the first ever grass court tennis clinic at Ellen Gates Starr Park.  Over 30 kids turned out for this incredibly unique experience on a beautiful fall morning during our farmers’ market. Midtown provided coaches, set up portable nets and provided lessons and conducted group drills using their innovative quickstart tennis method for teaching young children the basics of tennis in a fun atmosphere. The entire program was free and provided neighborhood kids professional instruction and gave them exposure to this great sport. This was yet another event NDN held at Ellen Gates Starr Park to give neighborhood children an opportunity to play and engage in positive recreational activities at their neighborhood park. The tennis clinic will be an annual event.  We invite you to bring your kids and your racket to this year’s clinic!
